Decoding : The Founder of Bitcoin

Yes, I know! You have no clue what I am talking about. Let me explain.

Bitcoin, the most recent sensation in the financial markets has sort of motivated me to understand more about the cryptocurrency craze. On my quest, I came across Satoshi Nakamoto, the founder of Bitcoin.

Who is Nakamoto?

There are some interesting claims regarding this. Even though it is universally accepted that Satoshi Nakamoto is the founder of the Bitcoin, his identity still remains unkown. The speculation is that it might be a group of individuals or a single individual. Some say, though the name is Japanese, there is no guarantee that the man or men might be Japanese.

Nakamoto is believed to be a 37 year old male, born on 5 April 1975. He is said to live in Japan and his name indicates a Japanese origin. But experts believe otherwise. They say that his impeccable English and no Japanese labeling or documentation on the software indicate otherwise.

Many efforts have been made by the NSA and Department of Homeland Security to identify the identity of the creator of Bitcoin. They are said to have uncovered the identity of the man but the information is available only to a few and Nakamoto has take extensive care in keeping his identity hidden. It is also said that the DHS only uncovered the identity to identify any potential threat and not to disclose the identity to the general public.

It is not to say that the general public have not tried to identify Nakamoto, but open source stylometry options and limited resources ( read: millions of emails and a supercomputer) proved insufficient in identifying the man.

As of today, he is the most elusive billionare in the world with a net worth of USD $15.5 billion coming from 1 million bitcoins to his name.

My opinion is that, the man was a genius and deserves to have his identity hidden. Not to say that he is a terrorist or a funding mechanism disguised as a person (hopefully not!), but it shows what a great idea could do to a persons life. Therefore, if you have an idea which you feel is going to bring a change to this world, don't fear. Make them work. You might have the next big thing!

Hey guys,

Its my sincere request to you that you please comment your opinions in the comments section regarding my content. If you have any requests, post them too....  I'll try to cover them over time.
